Description: En cumplimiento de convenios firmados entre el Ministerio de Vivienda, Construcción y Saneamiento y La Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería mediante el CISMID, se ejecutaron los estudios de Microzonificación Sísmica, Peligros, Vulnerabilidad y Evaluaciones de Riesgo en diferentes distritos de Lima, Cusco, Arequipa, Ica y Cajamarca. El objetivo principal de estos estudios fue elaborar mapas de microzonificación sísmica de estos ámbitos. Esta investigación se llevó a cabo desarrollando tres áreas de estudio; peligro sísmico que emplea métodos probabilísticos y determinísticos para estimar la aceleración máxima horizontal en roca (PGA), valor importante para estimar las aceleraciones del terreno; la mecánica de suelos que caracterizando el suelo mediante exploración de campo, determina el tipo de material sobre el cual se asienta el área urbana, también se ha determinado el peligro geológico por efecto de taludes para las áreas altas del distrito y la dinámica de suelos que permite, mediante ensayos de tipo geofísicos, caracterizar el comportamiento dinámico de los suelos.
